Split Cruise Port on a Budget:
A Family-Friendly Beach Day

Visiting Split, Croatia, on a Mediterranean cruise? You don't need an expensive shore excursion to enjoy a wonderful day.
During our recent summer cruise, we discovered an easy and affordable way to spend our time in Split.
We visited Bacvice Beach, a beautiful public beach with clear water, a relaxed atmosphere, and useful facilities nearby.
For families traveling on a budget, this can be a great alternative to a traditional cruise excursion.

1. Skip the Expensive Excursion

One of our favorite discoveries was how close the beach was to our cruise terminal.
We reached Bacvice Beach in approximately 12 minutes on foot, and we didn't need a taxi or organized transportation.
Best of all, the public beach had no entrance fee.
This makes it an appealing option for families who want to enjoy Croatia without spending hundreds of dollars on an excursion.

2. Enjoy a Beach Day for $0

The highlight of our visit was the beautiful Adriatic Sea. The water was clear, the weather was perfect, and the beach was full of summer activity.
We could enjoy the sunshine, swim, and relax without paying for admission.
Families can bring their own towels and beach essentials to keep costs low.
The beach has a shallow part for small children to enjoy, and it was so calm with no waves at all. It was perfect for all ages to enjoy.

3. On-site Convenient Facilities

Another advantage was having useful services nearby. During our visit, we found:
FREE Restrooms
FREE Changing spots
FREE Beach area to put towels, umbrella and chairs
FREE Use of floaties, noodles and beach balls
FREE Use of beach net to play Water ball
FREE Park space with benches to sit, relax and enjoy under the shade
FREE Picnic tables around the park

These conveniences can make a family beach day easier, especially when traveling with children and older adults.
