Le Havre: Great Port of Departure for a Cruise

Our cruise, the MSC Poesia, was departing from Le Havre on a Northern Europe itinerary. Since this was an experience that we wanted to do, we decided to fly to Paris a day early and then catch a train to Le Havre to spend the night.
The train from Paris to Le Havre was practically empty; we had a very pleasant journey, and upon arriving at the Le Havre station, our hotel was just a three-minute walk away.
Once we had settled in, we decided to head out and explore the city center.

Since the city isn't as busy as Paris, the lower volume of people in public spaces was quite noticeable, both in local businesses and public transportation.

This same factor made a real difference the next day when we took an Uber to board our cruise. The number of people boarding from this city wasn't overwhelming, which made the entire process very relaxed and smooth.
We really enjoyed the Le Havre, mainly because we had planned ahead to stay for a night and rest after our long flight. We did the same when we arrived from our cruise, so the overall experience was very smooth.
Super recommended as a great port of departure for a cruise!
