Why the Belgian Waffles are so Famous?

Renowned for their unique preparation, Belgian waffles are typically made with a special batter that creates a perfect balance of fluffiness and crunch. They are often served with a variety of toppings such as fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate, and syrup, making them a versatile treat.
The Belgian tradition of making waffles dates back centuries, and the cities of Brussels and Bruges are especially famous for their high-quality waffles. And of course, we had to try them during our visit!

Following our friends' recommendation, we went straight to Chez Albert, located on one of Bruges' busiest streets, on the way to the Market Square.
The place is small and cozy, and they had a delicious special offer that included a waffle and a drink; of course, we chose a Belgian coffee to try. Both options were delicious, and with a cold weather the hot beverage is always a plus.
Although our visit to Bruges only lasted one day, we were able to make the most of it and enjoy everything we wanted, including the famous Belgian waffles.
Their reputation has grown worldwide thanks to their irresistible flavor, iconic appearance, and cultural significance as a much-loved Belgian delicacy, so they were a must on our itinerary.
