10 Free and Unique Attractions in Las Vegas

For us, like for many travelers, budget is super important. Especially when we are traveling for months, it becomes essential to also explore free activities and attractions.
In this post, we bring you a list of our favorite 10 free activities in Las Vegas, which we already visited and truly enjoyed.
Let's go!

1. Bellagio Fountains
These stunning water shows with hundreds of jets of water dance in sync with music and lights. Shows happen every 30 minutes in the afternoon and every 15 minutes at night, creating a magical atmosphere outside the Bellagio hotel. They can be seen from many rooftops around and if you are staying - like we did - in this Hotel the show will be right outside your window.
2. The Volcano at The Mirage
A dramatic nighttime display where fire erupts from a volcano-shaped structure, accompanied by music and special effects. It can be seen from the street, no need to enter the Hotel to see it. It’s a fiery spectacle that’s fun to watch and free to enjoy from the street. Shows are every night on the hour from 8 pm to 11 pm.
3. The 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' Sign
It’s the classic symbol of Vegas, welcoming visitors as they arrive in the city. You can walk there from the Strip, although it’s a bit of a distance. We stopped here as part of a tour we booked and spent a few minutes taking photos.
4. The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
This free attraction features exotic birds, fish, and turtles in a lush garden setting, offering a peaceful retreat from the busy Strip, and it's located at the Flamingo Hotel. It gets crowded at certain hours like lunch time and then in the afternoon. Normally the mornings are very quiet and perfect to enjoy this place.

5. Seven Magic Mountains
Colorful, towering stacks of painted bines and stones set in the desert outside Las Vegas.
To arrive here, it is better to take a taxi or a tour that stops in this point for a few minutes, as there is literally nothing around. This large-scale art installation is eye-catching and makes for a great photo opportunity.
6. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
A beautiful indoor garden inside the Bellagio hotel that changes themes seasonally. It features elaborate floral displays, trees, and sculptures, offering a peaceful escape.
We went close to Christmas time, so everything was decorated in winter themes, really beautifully.
7. Venezia Hotel Canals
We called a family member from there and she was surprised that we arrived in Venice and did not call her, that’s how realistic the décor and atmosphere are. It features replica canals and gondolas and a Venetian-inspired design, creating a romantic and scenic environment. Full of cafes, shops and restaurants to enjoy the ambiance.

8. Las Vegas Strip Walk
If you want to see it all in one day, it may be overwhelming, so we recommend doing it by parts each day. We are used to walk a lot, and still dividing the tour into two days was the best option to enjoy it all. Simply strolling along the famous Strip lets you take in the dazzling lights, impressive architecture, and lively street scenes. It’s free and a great way to experience the city’s vibrant energy.
9. Performances at Caesar's Palace Hotel
These performances often feature impressive gladiator battles, chariot races, and mythological storytelling, all set in a majestic, Roman-inspired setting. The shows are known for their elaborate costumes, stunning special effects, and dramatic action, providing an exciting and immersive experience for audiences of all ages. They finish very quick; we went twice at different times to be able to see them, so keep it in mind.
10. The Sphinx at the Luxor Hotel
A replica of the ancient Egyptian statue, it features a majestic stone face with a traditional headdress, symbolizing the famous monument. The Sphinx is positioned outside the hotel, near the pyramid-shaped building, and is illuminated at night, creating a striking and mysterious appearance. Also, inside the Lobby there are more statues and amazing Egyptian ambiance, definitely a must-see.
