Parmigiano Reggiano Tour Near Bologna:
Our Experience

What few people know is that relatively close to the city of Bologna, there are several of the so-called "Caseificios," where the curing and making of the famous Parmigiano Reggiano cheese takes place.

In many of these places, the famous Parmigiano Reggiano Tours are held at different times of the day. We were wanting to have this experience for a very long time, and finally we decided to do it with other family members to enjoy the sensorial experiences.

Why is this a Sensorial Experience?

The most interesting and fun thing about this tour is that we use all our senses for the experience. The tour starts joining a group and listening to some fun facts about the procedures. Then the guide takes the group to different stations where the whole process takes place, being this a festival for our Eyes and Ears.

The next stop is at their warehouse, where we can touch the finished product and admire a huge collection of Parmigiano Reggiano Cheeses.

And last but not least at all, is the final room where every guest in the group will smell and taste several samples of cheeses based on their aging, process and industry uses.
This is by far the best part of all!
