How to Visit Gouda from Rotterdam by Train

Visiting Gouda from Rotterdam by train is a convenient and scenic journey. The train ride typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes, making it a quick and comfortable day-trip option.
The train travels through the Dutch countryside, offering picturesque views of green fields, windmills, and charming villages along the way. The stations are well equipped with restrooms, vending machines and benches (and heating in winter, much appreciated).
Upon arriving at Gouda station, you will find the city center just a short walk away, easily accessible from the station. From there, we did explore its historic streets, museums, visit the famous cheese shops, and enjoy the scenic canals—all within walking distance from the train station.
Something we really liked was that, even in winter, the weather didn't feel so cold, and in fact, it was pleasant to stroll through the old streets and contemplate the unique landscape.
The ease and speed of the train journey make it an ideal choice for experiencing the charm of Gouda as part of your visit to the Netherlands. Highly recommended for a day trip or even a visit of a couple of hours.
